Brocade 4020 Master and Brocade 5300

    hi guys

We are having some performance issues and we found that our blade switch (Brocade 4020) is the master so all traffic is handled by our little blade Switch instead of being handled for the Big guys the Brocade 5300.

How can we transfer o move the role to master from the blade Switch to the Brocade 5300?

    thanks a lot

guys I think I have to follow this commands

To display the current mode settings: fabricprincipal -q

To disable the mode setting: fabricprincipal 0

To enable the mode setting: fabricprincipal 1

To enable and force a fabric rebuild: fabricprincipal -f 1

is this procedure or command disruptive?

    thanks a lot

Don't worry, being the principal does NOT mean that the 4020 has to handle or to somewhat supervise the traffic in the fabric. Principals do have some extra tasks compared with a subordinate, like keeping the time in the fabric in sync. But it's not a big issue. Your performance problem most probably does not come from the 4020 being principal. Just guessing: it's more probable that one of the blades is a slow drain device or the ISL between 4020 and 5300 is too small.
