    follow-up questions:

what is the significance to have / define a seed switch?

also, what is difference between a seed switch and principal switch?

    Thanks!

    Hi ,

seed switch is a term used in BNA. As TechHelp24 wrote, it is the first switch used to discover a fabric in BNA.

Does it need to be the most powerful switch in the fabric or even an edge switch will do? Any criteria to choose the seed switch? Thanks.

    Hi,

It seems that the only requirements to become seed switch are the following:

    • The new seed switch is HTTP-reachable from the Management application.
    • The new seed switch is a primary FCS.
    • The new seed switch is running the latest Fabric OS version in the fabric.

There is not any special criteria to select it.
