Ports info list of full DCX

  • 1.  Ports info list of full DCX

    Posted 04-04-2013 08:56 AM

    Hi,

I need a ports info list preferably in XLS or TXT or CSV format, can you send me me or point me for a full size 8 blade x 48 port DCX.

    I need

    • director port number
    • blade number
    • blade port number
    • SCSI ID

for each port (I m sure some more info won't hurt, but I mostly need these).

    Thanks in advance !

    Regards,

    Tuncel

I look at your sheet and I fail to see the info.

    Just to be clear

    • director port number is - User Port or Port Index in Name Server or Area in SAN Health XLS
    • blade number is obvious - 1,2,3,4,9,10,11,12
    • blade port number is also obvious - number from 0 to 47 for 48 port blades
    • SCSI ID is Port ID in Name Server and SAN Health XLS

for example User Port 319 (blade 4, port 47 - fourth blade top right port) and the Port ID is 0x0DB780 (0xD being the Domain ID) and according to your sheet the number is 191 and it does not fit with the other numbers.

The reason that I am asking for that Port ID (SCSI ID) listing is I am trying to allocate some blades as tape blades and as I know (may be I am wrong) tapes being scanned in the same zone have been discovered in the line from the lowest Port ID first to the higher Port IDs, is it true ?

    Regards,

    Tuncel

I believe the attached doc addresses most if not all of your needs for this request.

That was the information I was looking for. Thanks a lot Bill !

Now for the question. If 2 different tape ports are in the same zone, which one is discovered first when ports are rescanned on the host side, the one with lower Index or lower Port ID ?
