can a new switch form Fabric with any old switch with old FOS ?

    Dear Elite Team,

     

    can a fabric be formed with any two Brocade switches running any different FOS versions?

    or is there a particular document which explains this compatibility..

     

    please let me know your thoughts and appreciate your pointers.

    yes, you can ISL switches no matter if the Modell or FOS is different as soon this are supported and compatible.

     

    for details refer the FOS release Notes, or post here exact Switches Type / Model and exact FOS Releases

    Thank you! I am looking for a doc which explains this we have a 5300 with 7.0.2 and 6250 with 8.1 FOS. I couldnt find this information in the release notes.

    example from FOS 8.1.2a Release Notes

     

    for those Switch Models

     

    Brocade DCX, DCX-4S, 300, 5100, 5300

     

    FOS v7.3.1 or later is required to Interoperate to FOS 8.1

     

    BTW. for privacy, you should don't post Phone Number in the community, but is you own decision.....
