New SAN Director Deployment and FOS Interoperability

I rececently purchased two new SAN director switches (DCX8510-4) to eventually replace my 48000-series switches.  I've reviewed the FOS 7.2.1 release notes and it appears everything is compatible.  Here's what I'm thinking:

    1.  The two existing directors are domain IDs 5 and 6.

    2.  I set the domain IDs of the new directors to 10 and 11 (everything else in the fabric is a higher number).

    3.  Connect each director to the existing "odd" and "even" fabrics.  Since they don't have the lowest domain ID each will download the respective zoning configuration.

    4.  Move host connections.

    5.  Everything works great!

Here's a complete table of what I have:

    "Odd" Fabric

    Model Fabric OS

    48000   6.4.3
    5100     6.4.3
    5100     6.4.3
    300       7.0.0c
    5300     7.0.0c
    300       7.2.1
    300       6.4.3
    5000     6.4.3

    "Even" Fabric
    Model Fabric OS
    48000      6.4.3f
    5100        6.4.3
    5100        6.4.3
    300          7.0.0c
    5300        7.0.0c
    300          7.2.1
    300          6.4.3
    5000       6.4.3

    New Directors
    DCX8510-4         7.2.1d
    DCX8510-4         7.2.1d

the plan looks good. here is the only note i have:

    > Since they don't have the lowest domain ID each will download the respective zoning configuration.

they will download the respective zoning configuration regardless of what their domain ids are. the only condition that is required is the successful joining to the fabric with at least one isl connection. this btw means many different things at once, but it doesn't matter if the domain ids are higher or lower.

Great, thank you!  I'm not sure where I heard/read that the switch with the lowest domain ID "wins" when first connected to the fabric.  I guess I was just worried about blowing away my existing configuration when connecting a new switch.
