I have Brocade 6505 switch that I am having trouble setup. I have tried numours versions of Java but no luck. Please help.
Setup Machine os; Windows server 2008 r2
Unable to launch the application
FOS v7.2.0d unable to load resource http:/xx.xx.xx.xx/loc_res.jar
Try getting old version of JRE - I had similar issues, where popup would display on the screen of current generation browser-(ie or firefox) - not able to get in.
I ended up uninstalling JRE 8u31 from my machine, rebooting, deleting the c:\program files (x86)\java1.8 folder.
downloading old Java from oracle archives - 7 u25 worked.
the second work around - to avoid the html message from oracle that your java version is out of date
directing you to upgrade to 8 u31.
run it from the command line.
javaws "http://[your switch ip address]/switchExplorer installed.html"
Hope this works for you... it did for others, and me.
supposed to be fixed in the 8.x release of JRE ??
Thanks for the information tjgraves. Your suggestions worked flawlessly. I went back to JRE 1.7.0 update 51 and it worked just fine. The first time you try to launch Web Tools it automatically loads the latest version of Java. I had experimented with other previous version before and it did not seems to work. I think uninstalling java, deleting the folder and rebooting is important. By the way, does anyone know if it is possible to update the firmware so a newer version of Java wil be supported? I might have to update the Java on the setup machine to support another application. Thanks again!!!
