SMG DDS Query

Hi Everyone,

 I would like to clarify something. I have one CC standalone and Two Scanners. Now when I add the LDAP server to my DDS configuration. Does all SMG appliance roles i.e Control Center and Scanner must have access to the LDAP server?

For Control Center it will access the LDAP for End user quarantine access and CC console access authentication via the domain credentials

For Scanners they will directly reach the LDAP server for recipient validation and other stuff.

What I am trying to ask is does both Control Center Standalone and Scanners standalone must have individual access to the LDAP server for the DDS functions to work properly?

Ideally, both the Control Center and the scanners will be able to query the LDAP source. The scanners definitely need to be able to communicate with the LDAP server. The Control Center will communicate as well with test queries and such.

both the Control Center and each Scanner must have individual access to the LDAP server.

If only the CC has LDAP access, recipient validation will fail on the Scanners.

If only the Scanners have LDAP access, end user quarantine and console authentication will fail on the CC.

LDAP connectivity is required for both roles independently to ensure DDS functions properly.
