Broadcom named a Leader in 2026 Omdia Universe: FinOps

As the landscape of FinOps continues to evolve, the tools that customers need to manage their business need to evolve with them. From managing AI and Token Usage to optimizing resources and automating workflows, FinOps teams are asked to do more with less. Tools are expected to meet this demand. It’s imperative that teams pick a tool that can keep up with the demands on their team, as well as the evolution of the market.

The CloudHealth team is happy to announce that Broadcom has been recognized as a Leader in the 2026 Omdia Universe: FinOps!

Results are not an endorsement of Broadcom. Any reliance on these results is at the third party's own risk.

Omdia has categorized the capabilities of a FinOps solution into 10 subcategories, which have been used to assess solutions in this Universe report. These subcategories fall into two main groups: Financial Management (i.e., management of costs) and Operational Management (the tasks needed to manage the entire process).

Financial Management

  • Management of budget and costs: How the costs and any budgets are managed.

  • Cost allocation: The ability to understand how the cloud cost should be allocated and presenting this back to the relevant teams in a near-real-time way.

  • Chargeback and financial integration: How the FinOps solution integrates with the company’s financial management systems and how the costs are allocated to the users of the service.

  • Cost management coverage: This covers, at a high level, the different technologies and use cases for which the solution provides cost management.

Operational Management

  • Analysis and reporting: How reporting is performed and who can request and build reports. This also covers the capabilities around how data analysis is performed, particularly if specialist skills are required or if it is a user-driven capability.

  • Forecasting: One of the biggest issues with cloud spending is that it is variable, but organizations want to understand what the forward-looking costs will be so they can plan accordingly.

  • Managing data and governance: Understanding the role the FinOps solution plays in data preparation and management and how the solution delivers governance.

  • Optimization: This is all about how well the organization is using the resources it is paying for and how the cloud is consumed.

  • Workload management and automation: This is all about how well the solution can automate activities and whether the solution can provide cost management at the workload level.

  • Cultural and organizational fit: This is about how the solution can fit into an organization’s existing structure, processes, and procedures, as well as what transformational capabilities it delivers.

For the 2026 Omdia Universe: FinOps, Broadcom is classified as a leader in this Omdia Universe with an overall average capability score of 87% and a strategy and execution score of 81%.

Within the vendor analysis section, there are two types of accolades that can be awarded to vendors:

  • The best in class accolade is awarded to the vendor(s) with the highest score (highest outright, tied highest, or within <1% of the highest score) for each of the scoring categories that make up this Universe topic.

    • Financial Capability

    • Operational Management

    • Solution Breath

    • Strategy & Innovation

    • Market Momentum

    • Vendor Execution

  • The top-tier accolade is given to vendors falling within the upper tercile (top third) of the scores within the comparison group, for each of these same scoring categories.

Broadcom was named Best in Class in “Strategy & Innovation” and Top-Tier in “Financial Capability,” “Operational Management,” “Solution Breath,” and “Market Momentum” with strengths in optimization, forecasting, and data governance. Omdia shares that Broadcom should be the FinOps tool shortlist if “you are looking for a vendor that differentiates itself through its focus on usability and scalability.”
