Here are the steps we would like to execute on customer SEPM: 1.Backup DB. Please follow the right guidelines to do this. a. Login to SEPM->Admin->Server->Localhost->Edit Database properties->Backup setting->Enable Backup logs->Click on Ok b. Login to SEPM->Admin->Server->Localhost->Backup database now->Click on Yes Backup will store at location – C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\backup 2. Collect sdbz log and collectLog.cmd data and save the logs. 3. Shutdown SEPM service "Symantec Endpoint protection Manager" from Windows Services. 4. Create the missing procedure SEM_HOMEPAGE_UNMANAGED_DISTINCT_MACHINES in customer DB: Note:Procedure SEM_HOMEPAGE_UNMANAGED_DISTINCT_MACHINES.txt is attached to etrack. Steps: a. Go to location in SEPM install folder %SEPM installed folder%\ASA\win32\ b. From the above folder launch 'dbisqlc' c. Once launched "dbisqlc" fill up the following information. Authentication- Database UserId- DBA password- SEPM password which was given at the time of installation(default password) Action- Connection with an ODBC Data Source ODBC data Source name - Symantec endpoint Security DSN d. Click Ok e. Paste the SEM_HOMEPAGE_UNMANAGED_DISTINCT_MACHINES procedure available in the attached file SEM_HOMEPAGE_UNMANAGED_DISTINCT_MACHINES.txt in the box and click on execute so that it will be created in the Database. Attached procedure is ONLY for SEPM RU5. In case support find any customer reported this problem please provide us the sdbz and collectLog.cmd data for us to analyze and confirm whether the same steps can be followed on that customer SEPM as well. f. Confirm the procedure is created successfully without executing it explicitly. In case of failure, error is displayed in a pop up dialog box. 5. Start SEPM service "Symantec Endpoint protection Manager" from Windows Services. 6. Verify the "query failed" error is no more displayed on the SEPM UI by following the below steps. a. Freshly login into SEPM console b. Click on SEPM-> Home Page-> View Details button c. Verify that View details page displays correctly with no error. 7. Collect sdbz log and collectLog.cmd data 8. Confirm the result and in case of failure please provide the sdbz log and collectLog.cmd data collected in steps #2 and #6 to Symantec SEP CRT/Engineering. If the result is negative customer may have to re-install SEPM and restore DB.
